House Ways and Means Committee To Hold First Hearing On FairTax

House Ways and Means Committee Chair Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI) has announced that the committee will hold hearings on the FairTax Tues., July 26. Among the experts scheduled to testify is former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

The FairTax Act (HR-25/S-13) was first filed in Congress in 1999, and the July 26 hearing will be the first one ever held on the FairTax before the tax-writing committee. This hearing is the direct result of many dedicated FairTax supporters who contacted their Representatives and Chairman Camp! When more of the American people learn about the economic advantages of the FairTax, there will be more pressure on the Congress to pass the FairTax Act.

SC FairTax activist John Steinberger will join the FairTax Nation group Fri., July 29 at our nation’s capital to visit Congressional offices in the Storm The Hill Rally. Those interested in joining John in Washington should contact him at John.Steinberger@SCFairTax.org.

The South Carolina Congressional Delegation members who are FairTax Act co-sponsors include Sen. Jim DeMint, Rep. Tim Scott and Rep. Jeff Duncan. Please call Sen. Lindsey Graham, Rep. Joe Wilson, Rep. Trey Gowdy, Rep. Mick Mulvaney and Rep. Jim Clyburn at 1-202-225-3121 and ask them to become FairTax Act co-sponsors!
